The School Eye Screening Campaign, implemented by Human Appeal and Direct Aid in partnership with the Ministry of Health of the Federal Government of Somalia, was launched in March 2026 to improve children’s eye health through early screening and awareness in schools.
The first phase of the project has been successfully completed across Mogadishu, Kismayo, Galkayo, and Baidoa, benefiting thousands of school children through vision screening, referrals, and access to eye care services.
The second phase is expected to begin soon, continuing efforts to reach more children across Somalia.
